Little Boys

Jace and his pal were playing with the little chihuahua at our friend's house. They were pretty cute.

3 am on a Sunday Morning

Here's where I am at 3am on some mornings. This morning happens to be a Sunday. Where are you usually at 3am? (Totally a rhetorical question, unless you are somewhere interesting or doing something interesting at 3am). Then by all means, please share.

Happy Birthday Connor

Today was cousin Connor's birthday. The family went over while I stayed behind. I had to work.

Before they left, Kara put together this birthday card. I wish you all could have seen the card in person, because these pictures do not do it justice. The

She Does Photography As Well!

Leigh LOVES photography. She really LOVES photography. She loves to take pictures and edit them. I think she's great at it too.
She wants to be a graphic designer/photographer. Hmmmm. I wonder who's side of the family she takes after.

Weigh-In Day #2

Another weigh-in day. It was a tough week, but I have to say that I did feel lighter. I just hate though that weigh-in is not until lunch. Really?! I know it shouldn't matter but it sure feels like you could pack on some pounds in just one meal. Needless to say I eat pretty light until that moment.
Not bad though this week. I'm down 2.8 lbs!! Only 26 more to go!!

Taking Pictures

Some of you may already know that I have another blog that I run (The Busy Coconut). I was working on a recent post and needed a picture of oreo cookies. I'm learning that that's hard to do with a 15 month old that loves to climb.

Cows

Did you know that every time I go for a walk or a run, I see cows? Lots of cows. Today was no exception. Leigh, Jace and I saw big cows, brown cows, black cows and little cows. Nothing says "you live out in the country", than seeing cows along the road.

Making Bread

I left the dough on the table on purpose to see what Jace would do. It was cute. He kept poking it. He was so fascinated with it.

A Day in the life of Jace

First getting up. In case you're wondering, that's a mosquito net. Once in a while a mosquito will get him, so we put the net over his crib. Don't want to take any chances.

Bath after a messy breakfast. Tyler volunteered to bathe him. Such a great big brother.

Eating chips and salsa with Kara.

Breakdancing with the boys.

Fitness Day at School

One of the things I love about where we live is things are a little relaxed, meaning, if I want to see what's going on at the elementary school, I can. Today the kids were having a fitness test. They do this every year. I came in time to see Kara doing her curl-ups.

While we waited, boss-man here was having fun playing on the playground.

I watched both kids attempt to do the chin-ups. I think that it's one of the hardest things to do. I don't think I will even be able to do one for the rest of my life. I won't. I just won't.

Micah had a sprint test. Look at him go.

Weigh-In Day #1

This was the highlight of my day ----- weigh-in. A loss. Not a big one, but a loss nonetheless. Only 28.4 more pounds to go. You can read about my journey here.

Late Naps

It's been a rough day. The two older boys were home sick from school. Lots of play time and lots of distractions, means refusal to nap. He was tired and couldn't fight it any longer by the time 3:30pm rolled around. He was down for the count.

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge: Family Fun

Just hanging around with the cousins.

Day at the Zoo for MLK Day

It was a great day at the zoo. It was Jace's first time which is what made it fun for all of us. Even the kids got a kick out of seeing him discover animals. Here are the rest of the pictures as promised.

It's a tradition . . .

A Blur

So I forgot to snap a picture for today. That would be because it was a blur. I almost never do, but this weekend I work two nights in a row, Saturday and Sunday. This is how my weekend has been: worked all night Saturday, home this morning and crashed at 9am, opened my eyes at 5pm, ate dinner and came back to the hospital. So basically it's been a blur.

101 Things You Can Do With Masking Tape

I kept hearing the masking tape being used, so I had to go so what needed so much tape. This is what I found. The kids lined the floor with tape, blindfolded themselves and the point was to see if you could walk on the "tight rope" without falling off. The kids were laughing so hard watching each other.

She Cooks Too!

Randy and I were planning to make a date of food shopping. Dinner hadn't been cooked yet, and so my wonderful Leigh volunteered to do dinner so Randy and I could hurry and leave before Costo closes. She loves to cook and is pretty good at it. She's such a great help to our family.

When Homework is Done

When homework is done, the imagination play begins. No video gaming equals some good old fashioned fun. Jace has a ton of fun playing with his big brother. They took the cinder blocks to make a "golf course" to roll a baseball through.

Science Fair and Cartwheels in the Dark

It's that time of year again! You know, where we stay up all night, the night before this project is due, fighting with double sided tape and bright colored construction paper. It was Kara's first year going solo on a Science Fair Project. I think she did pretty well if I do say so myself. She was determined to do her best. She actually stayed up until midnight last night because she didn't want to go to bed until it was done!

The board looked awesome. Her science fair project was on which temperature of water dissolves sugar and salt faster. Kara learned a lot about solubility and molecules. Her board looked great and she was so proud of it. Great job Kara!!As far as the cartwheels go, well, here's how it all went down. My family decided that we should all go running for our FHE. Some of us are feeling a little thick around the middle, I won't name names. We ran 2 times around the big circle at BYUH and then stopped to stretch in front of the Aloha Center. While laying there, some of the kids started doing cartwheels. Next thing I know, I see Randy cartwheeling with the rest of the kids. I couldn't just stand there and watch my family make a food out of themselves without me, so I joined in as well. I did two cartwheels very slowly. If I went any faster than I had, bad things would have happened. So there we were, all six of carthwheeling around while Jace was clapping his hands in excitement. Good times. Good times.

Blogging Resolutions

So I'm 8 days into the New Year and not doing very well with my blogging resolutions. I guess I should have written them down. So here I am writing my blogging goal down. I thought of this last year and am not sure how well I will do, but my goal is to write at least one thing from our family's day to remember.
So here's today's memory. Our wonderful friends the Hippolites blessed their 6th and only boy of the family today. They invited Randy to participate in the circle. Randy gladly did so. Later we went over and had an early dinner and visited with their family and others from the ward. We are so blessed to have great friends like them who bless our lives.

P.S. I'm still going to catch up from last year. Wish me luck!
