Finally! Tyler's Birthday Celebration

It took us forever, but we finally found a day that we were able to officially celebrate Tyler's birthday. We had all of Tyler's favorites for dinner: teri burgers, curly fries, and poke.

It was quite yummy. I made a mac salad for the first time. It tasted just like you got it from L&L's.

I can't believe he's 12 already. Time is going by too fast. Tyler is such a blessing to us. He's super smart, helpful at home, funny kid (very witty), and just a good boy.

After dinner we had gone to the movies, saw Kung Fu Panda 2, and came home and had this delicious ice-cream sandwich cake. Happy Birthday Tyler!!!

Tyler's 6th Grade Graduation

**Warning: I may not hold back on this blog as far as gushing over my son. I just want him to remember all the accomplishments that he had this past school year.

Today was Tyler's graduation from 6th grade. I can't believe I have another child going off to Intermediate School.

I love this picture that Randy took. Tyler is growing up into a young man.

During the graduation, Tyler was recognized for different awards. One was for Citizenship.

Another was for exceeding Academic Proficiency. He also scored the highest math score in his grade for the HSA, beating all but one kid in the GT program.

He was also recognized as doing Outstanding in Language Arts.

He was also recognized for being a Super Raider. We're so proud of you Tyler. I wished everyone in my family could have been there to see him.

Tyler receiving his Diploma and being congratulated by his teachers. That's Mrs. Ale, his homeroom teacher.

He's growing up so fast!

These are some of his friends from the ward. Onesi, Michael, and Hala.

Jace was a good boy through it all . . . just heavy to hold. Boy was it humid too!

His 6th grade class ready to perform their musical number. It was so fun to watch.

Tyler with his teachers: Mr. Waite, Mrs. Ale, and Mrs. Kai.

Tyler and one of his best friends.

Another great buddy of Tyler's.

We're so proud of you Tyler and all that you've done this year. We can't wait to see what happens in the next 6 years. I'm sure it will be awesome!!!

A Deacon

Tyler turned 12 this year and is now a Deacon. We were all excited for him to reach this milestone including Tyler. In his Deacon's quorum, he was ordained a Deacon. Randy and I were able to be there. It was a special moment. It was special too because today was the day that the priesthood was restored here on earth.

He is a little nervous about passing the sacrament next week, but I'm sure he will be fine. Along with moving on from primary, Tyler was able to finish his Faith in God before turning 12. Tyler you're so awesome!

Mother's Day Weekend Getaway!!

This was our Mother's Day gift for all of us Sasaki girls. A "stay-cation" in Waikiki at a nice hotel. We were excited to start.

Jan got us joining rooms, which made it so much more fun!

We walked around Waikiki that night, going into stores and checking things out.

We stayed up till 1:30am. You would have thought that we'd sleep in, but no. We were up early, ready to start the day. Some of us exercised, including me. I took a 3 mile run from the hotel to Kapiolani park and back.

A quick picture before going down to the breakfast buffet.

Waiting to be seated for breakfast.

The buffet there was awesome! So. Much. Food. I won't even tell you how many times I went back to get food.

Good times.

We had a nice semi-private area with a huge table for all of us to sit around and talk. We were probably there for at least 1 1/2 hrs just talking and eating.

We were stuffed. Heading back to the room to get ready to go shopping.

We picked up a well-deserved treat or two from the Cheesecake Factory. 10 different kinds of cheesecake.

We shared with each other. I couldn't decide which was the best.

After eating too much cheesecake, I dared to put on a bathing suit and hang out at the pool.

"Hi Jill!"

Terri and Julie relaxing.

I had a headache by this point from having too much fun I think.

Jan and Terri just enjoying themselves.

Our last shot before I had to go home early (Tyler was being ordained a deacon. I couldn't miss that). Thanks girls! I can't wait for next year.

Six Months Old

Jace is half-way through with his first year of life. He's reached milestones that have us all cheering. Well, until he starts getting into trouble.

Pulling himself into a standing position is a fun one for him.

His fine motor skills are coming along quite nicely. We train him by leaving little chocolate chips on the floor for him to practice grabbing.

Crawling is one of his favorites. He's quite fast!

And eating. We're still fine-tuning this one. We love our baby Jace. He makes us smile all the time.

May Day 2011

Another fun filled day of May Day for Kahuku Elementary!

Kara and her BFF waiting for the program to start.

They spotted daddy taking pictures.

They are so cute.

Tyler and his partner. They were the Prince and Princess of Niihau.

The whole 6th grade Royal Court.

Waiting to dance.

Micah's class does a disco. It cracked me up when I saw my friend bust out a hair pick to fix the afro's (is that how you spell it?)

He practiced every day after school.

Kara doing a Fijian number. She was good!

BFF's!

Tyler and his good buddy.

The afternoon gang. These guys play almost everyday together.

Tyler and another friend from the ward.

My May Day gang. So fun to watch them.

Jace wanted to get in on the action. He insisted on wearing the wig ; )
