The Best Thing About Camp . . .

The BEST thing about camp was EVERYTHING!!! From beginning to end, it was fun. Very exhausting, but well worth it.

Of course the worst thing about camp was the scare we had from Micah on the last day. Long story short, he climbed a tree that was about 50ft high. On the way down, he fell (from about 20ft), hitting two branches, landing right on his stomach, and was knocked unconscious. Luckily, he fell on sand. He didn't remember anything. So we took him to the ER, where, other than a concussion, he was given a clean bill of health. We were so thankful that he didn't get any more hurt than the did. Slowly, his memory came back and this what Micah had to say, "I remembered that I forgot that you told me not to climb that tree."

Kids --- you gotta love them! We do!

Party - Local Style

It was definitely a busy day, but of course we enjoyed being together. We started out the morning at PCC, for a baby luau/graduation party. Our good friends, the Nakayama's, were celebrating 3 accomplishments in their family. Their grandbaby turned 1, their oldest child graduated from college, and their next oldest son graduated from Kamehameha. They've been great friends of ours before we moved from Hawaii.

After the party, we headed downtown for some last minute Father's Day shopping for Randy' s dad. We found something at the Rainbowtique, then headed out to Grandpa's house. We hung out thei efor a while, ate dinner, and talked story with Grandma and Grandpa. Prior to going there, we finished up our shopping for camp.
We were definitely exhausted by the end of the day, but happy to have had a day being together and seeing friends and family.

Our First Piano Recitals

Tonight we had our first piano recital for the girls. Leigh and Kara had practiced for weeks for this night.

You can't tell too much, but the girls are really nervous.

Kara did very well with her performance, not a single mistake.

Leigh did well with her performance as well. Leigh can't get enough of the piano.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Leigh wanted to celebrate her birthday with her three closest friends from school. One of those girls couldn't make it, but the girls still had fun. The plan was to go to BYUH to bowl.

The girls came over and we all had pizza and drinks. After we were done eating, we headed to the bowling alley.

We got to the game room at BYUH and found out that the bowling alley was not working. We were disappointed, but the girls were happy to play other things while we there. Micah and I were trying the air hockey.

We had half a cake left from the night before. I was told that everyone enjoyed it.

The big 1-3 for Leigh!!

We've reached that milestone of having a teenager in the house now, and I'm so blessed to have a daughter that just gets more awesome the older she gets!

For her special birthday dinner, she wanted us to have "foil dinners". Can you tell she really enjoyed YW's Camp?! LOL! She even helped prepare them.

Everyone enjoyed the dinner. Of course the battery on the camera died when it was time for cake. Leigh requested an ice-cream cake, mint chocolate chip for the ice-cream with a chocolate cake base. It was delicious. Tomorrow, she's doing stuff with her friends for her official birthday celebration.

Leigh is so great! There aren't enough great things to say about her. Here are thirteen things we love about her (in no particular order) :

1. She's always helpful.

2. She's a great cook, and loves to do it!

3. She's a smart girl, getting great grades at school.

4. She's not afraid to stand up for her beliefs.

5. She's fun, loves playing volleyball and swimming.

6. She's fun to hang and talk with.

7. She's a wonderful piano player.

8. She's always takes care of her younger siblings.

9. She's funny!

10. She's loves little children.

11. She loves YW's!

12. She's not a procrastinator (something I'm trying to learn from her).

13. Leigh is always HAPPY!

YW's Camp

This was Leigh's 2nd year at YW's Camp. It started June 1st. This year they had it at Gunstock Ranch, which is 5 minutes from our house. Leigh was excited for camp. Here in our stake, they have big canopy tents set up for each ward, and girls bring a cot and all their other stuff. They literally sleep outside. Last year, poor Leigh was eaten alive by mosquitos. This year, she managed to get away with only a couple of bites. Leigh had sooooo much fun. She was able to go horseback riding, ride the ZipLine they have there, go on many hikes, have a cookoff (Iron-chef style), among many other activites for a week. I was actually sad that I wasn't in YW's. Growing up, we never had YW's camp. Maybe one day I'll get to go help. I'm glad though that Leigh had a blast. It ended on her birthday. Her YW leader took her out for breakfast that morning.

BOY!!! If you are on my friends' list on Facebook, you probably already know this. I had my ultrasound appointment yesterday. It was a day that my kids had been waiting for. They couldn't wait to find out what we were having. Me too. I can never wait till I have the baby, I always have to know. Let me say that I was surprised when they told us what we were having. My kids have come in a pattern: GIRL, BOY, GIRL, BOY. So naturally, I assumed the next child would be a girl. I was really convinced that I was going to be having a girl. The Dr. was funny because she knew that all the kids were excited and anxious to know what we were having. She waited till the end to say, and when it came time she said, "Do you guys really want to know what you're having?" That got their attention. "You're having a BOY!" I was VERY surprised. I don't know if I said it allowed, but I just remember thinking, "WHAT?! REALLY?!" It was fun to have all the kids there for that. Now it's time to think of boy names.
