The Last Song

On my way home from SLC, I bought the book "The Last Song". I wanted something to read. I really enjoyed it. Of course because I really like the book, I was dying to go see the movie. So @ the last minute, Leigh and I jumped in the car and headed down to the theater to watch it. It was the last night that I could watch it before it was gone.
Leigh and I both loved it. I do have to say that I still love "A Walk to Remember" better. Still, the story was great and of course sad at the same time. I just love having a daughter that's old enough to go out and do things like this. We enjoyed our mother-daughter time together.

Happy Anniversary!!

I almost forgot! --------- Sad, huh.

Today is our 14th wedding anniversary! I think I kinda forgot because we are going to celebrate this weekend. I'm so thankful for blogs. I just looked up what we did last year, and had forgotten that we he had taken the day off and we went to the beach together. That was a fun day. I better figure out what we are gonna do this weekend. I did though want to say,

"HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DEAR!!"

We're still here

I really haven't forgotten about the blog. Again, it's the whole picture thing. Our camera is on it's way out, so now we are in the process of getting another one. I gave my husband my blessing to go for a camera that will help him with his love of photography. Hopefully, we will figure it out soon. I should probably just get a nice, cheaper camera for myself, because knowing me, I probably won't want to or even know how to handle the monster camera may husband will probably get. In the meantime, I will post things we have done so far. More back-posting.

This Year's Makahiki

On my last day out of town, Randy and the kids went to Makahiki. Tyler had won the ward Pinewood Derby again. He had worked hard on his car. He invited Grandma and Grandpa to come watch. This was his last year. It was exciting and I will put that post up a little later. Long story short . . . he won! He was so happy!

So today at Makahiki, they have a statewide pinewood derby. Before you can race, you have to register your car again, which includes weighing. Well, at our ward weigh-in, his car was exactly 5 oz. The scale at Makahiki said his car was over by 1.7 gm. He had to fix it or he couldn't race. Randy did not have any tools and the Makahiki did not provide any. Being the resourceful scout, Randy started digging out the back of Tyler's car with his keys. It took them a while to do, and several trips to the scale to see if they had gotten the weight down, but they finally managed to get his car under 5oz. (Phew!)

Tylyer was officially eneter and ready to race. He raced his car in the district and placed third. I think the fact that he was awarded a trophy for that, it made it that more exciting. Placing 3rd however meant that Tyler qualified for the finals. The only bad thing about that is they had to wait around for 4 or 5 hours till the finals. There was a lot to look at though, so it was not totally a drag. They enjoyed all the stuff they had at Makahiki. I have to say, scouting is really fun in Hawaii. Finals came and overall, Tyler placed 15th in the state. Considering how many boys that is, I thought he did great. We were all proud of him.

Joe's Graduation ----Yay! He did it!

I was able to fly up to Utah to see my brother graduate from BYU-Provo with a degree in IT. He seems to enjoy what he does and has even started a business of building webpages. Here was his graduation day!

This is Lini Havea. Her and her family were in our ward growing up. She doesn't look like she aged at all. It's been so many years since I've seen her.

Joe and Morris Havea. This is one of Lini Havea's sons. I couldn't believe how grown-up he was. My last memory of him was when he was 6 y.o. It is so fun to see old friends.

Afterwards, we went to PF Changs to celebrate. I wasn't feeling too well that night, but I'm sure the food was delicious. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it. Tiana and Papa relaxing.

1st night in Utah

The first night I was in Utah, we had a family dinner at my Uncle Daniel's home in Sprinville. It was such a fun night!! I was able to reconnect with relatives and even get to know some even better. Our party started at 8pm and we didn't leave until 1am.

Dad and Aunty Emeli. She is my grandmother's sister. She is the last of the siblings of my grandmother that is still alive.

Whenever there's a wedding or something of that sort, in Tonga, gifts are usually exchanged between families and all the gifts to my extended family goes to her. So in my family, it is a joke that I am the fahu. Which I will be one day (not that I'm waiting for it. LOL!).

Ding! Ding! Round 5!

Yes, yes, I am pregnant. No ---- I did not pee on an ipod shuffle. This will definitely be a new experience, seeing as I feel like I'm at a different stage in my life. I will be dealing with older children and then a new born. All the children are excited. Micah has even gotten upset at one point, questioning why I haven't eaten a lot so that my tummy will get "fatter". Patience, it will happen sooner than I'd like. At the bottom I have a ticker telling how far long I am. We are excited about our new edition.
