Home from the Hospital

After two days in the hospital, Jace and I went home. Believe it or not, we actually forgot our camera when I went in to deliver him. Randy did get some on his phone (thankfully), so I'll post those later. I was glad to go home and be settled.

I had bought this outfit for him that said, "My First Halloween". Because he was so huge, he didn't get to wear it because it didn't fit.

After Randy left to come get me, the girls and the Hippolites came and decorated our house for us. I was so touched that they did that.

The kids were excited to have him home.

Looks like he's settling in just fine.

He Finally Came!!

Contractions started the night before while I was at the Fall Festival. Contractions came and went, while I was passing out candy, but not enough for me not to smile. I was thinking, is this really it. I had been having contractions every night for the past 3 nights, only for them to go away once I fell asleep. After getting home and getting all the kids to bed, I worked on some projects. While I was doing them, the contractions kept coming, and getting stronger. Randy had gone to bed. I took a shower and laid on the couch. I fell asleep, but woke up every time a contraction came. Yup, this is it. They were about 7 to 10 mins apart. Since this was my 5th baby and we live an hour away from the hospital, it was time to go in. It was 1 am by this point. My good friend Polly came and stayed with the kids until Grandpa could come in the morning. While driving over to the hospital, the contractions were getting closer and harder. We finally reached the hospital.
While the nurse was admitting us, she asked me what I was having. I nonchalantly replied, "A boy." Her eyes went wide and she said, "Are you sure, because your chart says girl." I looked at her and said, "What!" She grabbed my chart and showed me. In capital letters, the ultrasound report said "FEMALE". All I could think was, if this baby comes out a girl, we are in trouble. We had drawers of boy clothes at home. I was pretty sure that we were having a boy, but, you never know.
We checked in and the first request was for that epidural. All of you who do it "all na-tur-al", don't laugh. I see the epidural as my reward for all the aches and pains of pregnancy. As soon as the epidural kicked in, Randy and I went back to sleep. At around 7:30am, I called the nurse, letting her know that I was feeling a lot of PRESSURE. She checked me and it was "Baby Time"!! I started pushing at 7:40am, baby was born at 7:51am. The first thing Randy said was, "It's a boy!" I laughed.
When I heard him cry, it was a little surreal to think that I had a baby again. It has been 7 years since we've heard a baby of our own crying. I did get teary hearing it. I actually didn't get to see him for at least 5 mins because I closed my eyes during the whole "pushing" ordeal and the pediatric team whisked him away to work on him. He did have thick mec when they broke my water. They suctioned all the gunk out of him, and he had great agars.

So, at 7:51am on Halloween of 2010, we welcomed

Jace 'Isaia Sasaki

to our family. He weighed a whopping 10 lbs 4 oz. and was 22 1/4" long.

**As soon as our other computer is up and running, I will post pictures.

Halloween Fun!

Living in a predominantly LDS town, we all got together tonight to have some Halloween fun (since the 31st is on a Sunday). There was games, food and trick r' treating.
P.S. No baby yet, but when that picture of me was taken, I was actually having contractions. Cross your fingers.

Laie, Hawaii Temple Tour

After waiting for 18 months, the temple is finally ready. We are so thankful for this opportunity that our kids have to go in and see the Laie, Hawaii Temple. It is special to us because that's where Randy and I were married, my parents and Randy's parents, along with my sister. The kids couldn't wait for this visit.

Waiting in the tents for directions of how the tour will go.

We were instructed to go to another tent, where we watched a 10 min. video on what to expect.

Going up the covered walkway to the temple entrance.

he kids getting their footwear covered.

Everyone's ready. Of course at this point, the cameras had to be turned off. The kids enjoyed the tour, seeing the different room. I think the favorite was the baptismal font. My favorite part was being in the Celestial room with my husband and all my children. It made me smile. My other favorite part was that we were taken into the sealing room that Randy and I were sealed in.
After the tour, we went into another tent where there were refreshments.

It was a great start to our day. Also a good way to kill time while we are waiting for our newest arrival. We are so thankful that families can be together forever!

Rockin' My Bump!

I am letting go all shame by posting this picture. If you look at the ticker below for my pregnancy, it says that I am 40 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Unfortunately, that is so true. For those of you wondering, yes, I am still rockin' my bump. Every moment my kids see me, they are asking if the baby is coming yet. I wish I knew. Until then, I will keep on rockin' I guess.

Uncle Joe's Visit

It's been three years for the kids, so it was a nice surprise when they heard Uncle Joe was flying in. He was here for two weeks (10/3 - 10/17). He had a lot of work to do, but we managed to sneak in some R&R in between it all.

Micah and Joe playing in the sand.

Tyler burying his sister.

I think Kara was enjoying it.

There it is ---------- my bump!
More fun in the sand.

Kara wanted me to take this picture of her. We were shopping in Costco.

This was our first time to "Three Tables". It was actually a fun little spot. It's right next to Waimea. It was a beautiful day.

Joe getting ready to try some snorkelling.

Joe was pulling the kids along. They had a blast.

Tyler with the fins on is gonna try to do some snorkelling.

During the last week, Joe took our whole family out to dinner at the Ambassador at PCC. It was a nice dinner. The kids enjoyed themselves as well as the adults, and we had endless amounts of yummy food. Thank you Uncle Joe , that was so sweet of you to do that.

Here's Randy's plate. Can we say "MEAT!"

Micah trying to figure out why people like crab.

Joe and the kids. They really enjoyed his visit. We did do many other things, PCC Village, our own circle island tour, football with the in-laws, foodfest, haunted lagoon. We either forgot to take pictures or forgot to bring the camera along.

We look forward to the next visit Uncle Joe.
