Suits

Since my dad's last trip up here to visit us, he bought my oldest boy a suit. Which I must say, makes him look so handsome and grown up. It has definitely come in handy, like for prom and homecoming.

When Micah turned 12, my dad sent money so that Micah could get a suit. It was important that he got the suit because he was receiving the priesthood. We were touched that my parents wanted him to know how important and special it was to them.We have been so busy, that we were finally able to go buy a suit for Micah . . . so handsome!

Then there's these two monkeys who wanted a pic too : ) They are still cute as well.

An Update on our College Kid

So here's an update:
She's doing well. She LOVES being on her own. She's working hard as a TA for a paralegal professor as well as in the warehouse for the Energy Solutions Arena. She is enjoying her ward. Getting awesome grades in school. The biggest news that we are excited about is she has decided to serve a mission. So plans have changed a bit, and she will be coming home after this semester to start the process of going on a mission. We love you Leigh! Thanks for being such a great example to our family!

Only 43 more days till we get to hug her.

Moving In to her Apartment

It was a last minute trip up to UT, but I had to do it. Leigh was getting ready to move into her apartment and she has been up there for about a month working hard. I knew this was the time when she needed her mom. Between my sister, my husband and a friends, I was able to get away for a couple of days to Leigh out.

My brother-in-law is the bomb! He rented me this Tahoe to run around in while I take Leigh shopping and hauling her stuff from Orem to SLC.

Besides shopping for home stuff, we got Leigh hooked up with a new phone. Her old one was literally falling apartment. She has been patient about it and I know I don't have to, but I did anyway.

For lunch, we took a break and met up with one of my dearest friends from Hawaii ---- Janelle. I love keeping up with old friends. Thank you for an awesome time Janelle.

Then it was back to the apartment to let Leigh change and she was off to work. Check out her digs. Not bad huh.

Her room is on the right.

While she was at work, I went out to dinner with my sister, which was so nice. Love her. She is truly one of my best friends. We share and vent about everything!

I stayed up till 2am helping Leigh get all her stuff in order and feeling more like home. I worry but know she will be ok.

Before leaving, we walked around and found a little french cafe to have brunch. It was delicious. Love my Leigh and am so proud of all that she's done. She's learned a lot and grown so much spiritually. It makes me happy to know that I think I did a good job with that one.

My Family

We have reached a milestone in our family. These are the last family pictures before my oldest baby leaves the nest.

I'm very proud of my family and my children and all that they've accomplished so far.  I am blessed to have a wonderful relationship with my children and husband especially. We work hard to raise these kids. Our only prayer and goal for them is to have strong testimonies of the gospel and continue to live the principles that they've been taught.

My girls are growing into beautiful and talented young women. Leigh is leaving tomorrow and I have no doubt that she will be awesome, taking with her the values that she's learned and lived so far.

My boys are growing into fine young men, who do their best to live worthy of the priesthood that they have. Randy does a wonderful job in teaching them their duties and provides a great example for them of faith and integrity. He shows them what it means to do your duty to God.

I love my family so very much. I am thankful that I have them forever : )

Prom 2015 - Tyler and Taylor

Prom night is finally here, and these two are ready!
We met up at City Hall to take pictures. These two I think were a little nervous putting on each other's boutineer and coursage.

 Taylor's mom was supervising.

Then we were ready for pictures. Tyler looked so handsome and Taylor was beautiful!

I can't believe how grown up Tyler looks in this picture.

Saturday Happenings

This morning Kara, Tyler and Leigh got dressed and headed out the door to do baptisms for the dead at our Phoenix Temple. It is so nice to have a temple so close now. The each said they enjoyed being there. Makes my heart happy to hear that.

While the older ones were away for the day, we kept busy at our homestead. I had been wanting to put together a garden using this palette that someone was getting rid of.

I removed some boards to get the squares.

Randy then applied the sealant. Micah helped to staple on the landscape fabric. Then he and I poured in the soil. Jace jumped in to help when it came time to plant the seeds. We planted cucumbers, green onions and radishes. I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out.

#Promposal

Tyler decided he wanted to go to prom. He was planning to ask a girl in our ward by the name of Taylor. We drove over to the dollar store to purchase some mylar balloons and candy.

The balloons were blank, so Kara and I came up with the idea to put the letters PROM on the balloons with a "?".

The balloons were ready. Tyler got up extra early this morning, and we drove over to Taylor's house before seminary and set up the balloons in front of their car. The balloons were anchored with the candy bars.

Later that morning, Leigh sent a text saying that Taylor had gotten the balloons and was very surprised and happy that Tyler asked.

Later that evening, Taylor and Ashlyn (her sister) came by to drop off her response to Tyler's promposal. Isn't that cute. We put it in his room to surprise him when he came home from track. He was pleasantly surprised. He came out of his room with a big smile on his face.

Just glad Grandpa bought Tyler a suit.
