Kakaako Waterfront Park (Veteran's Day Part II)

After visiting the memorial, we headed out for some other type of fun. We drove to Kakaako Waterfront Park. There they have these steep green hills. We joined the crowds with their cardboards and slid down the hills. It was a lot of fun. Even I went down a few times.

Hopefully, I will get some of the video footage up. Stay tuned.

That looks like so much fun! It also brings back so many great memories. When I was young we used to do the same thing on the hill at Laie Park-it looked huge when we were little kids but not so much now. We weren't smart enough to use cardboard though, we used the ends of the big coconut leaves(like the stalk-I don't know if that makes sense) and we would use it as a sled. We also used the big pods that hold the flowers/baby coconuts and put them on like shoes or big skis. Sorry if I'm not explaining very well, just know we were fobs with no money and played with what we found on the ground! :) We did have great hours of fun on that hill! Looks like you guys did too.

I have been there and think that is a really neat place to go and see. I will have to take me kids there when we come to see you guys in HI! I just ready your blog fun to catch up with you and the family. I left a message on you cell phone today. Hope all is well!

That looks fun! You always do fun things with your kids. We have been to that park a lot but never thought to try to slide with a cardboard. I'll keep that in mind.

We used to go ice blocking when I was a teenager. YOu grab a big ice block and go down the hills on those. Lots of fun. Especially when you sneak onto private golf courses where they have the best grass and hills. Oops, I didn't do that. LOL
